To jump when they touch you and ask you why you're cold,
To sadden when they say you're young and you feel so old.
It provokes nervousness when someone wants to embrace,
And you pull way when they try to love you to your face.
To whisper maddened secrets that no one can understand,
When you can't run or turn around, its unfamiliar land.
To turn away when they try to wrap their arms around,
And when they voice affection, you don't hear a sound.
How can I ever learn to love,
When all I fear lies in your touch?
How can my spirit call?
When my heart can't fall?
And somehow, I can't love at all?
It's difficult to explain the reasons for being alone,
It's impossible to give love knowing you're forever alone.
Your strength is in your weakness, that you curse and swear,
The weakness is your strength, don't need anyone to care.
To smile when you think of the end to a fairy tale,
To wonder why they ask you why you're always pale.
There's no one behind that veil...
To see me walk away when you walk to my side,
I'm not your lover, I'm not your bride.
I am your wrath, you vengeance unquenched,
Unfreed and building, leading towards the end...
