Dream on, Crazy Diamond, of things that used to be.
Before the madness of heartache and affection’s insanity.
When the mornings were a blessing and you were needed,
Once again, it appears misery has succeeded.
So sure of stability and so trusting with a heart,
Never knowing someone could break those ties apart.
Once you felt so loved, you became a need,
Now, you’re in the shadows, it’s your heart to bleed.
Let them ignore you even though it gets colder,
Shattered souls won’t be mended and you’re getting older.
How could the flame die when fate knew your spirit?
The fire was beautiful, engulfed you as you got near it.
No one hears your cries, no one wipes your tears,
Dream on, Crazy Diamond, the hurt is still here,
And never again will that love appear...
